Uncle Ray's Dairyland in Fenton Has Ice Cream Before Spring!!
Anyone who has been to Fenton, Michigan knows that the premier family destination is Uncle Ray's Dairyland. It's a micro-creamery chock full of tasty homemade ice cream treats. Uncle Ray's recently put some major funding into an outdoor renovation that'll extend Fentonite's outdoor ice cream eating season by a couple of months. Fenton's February 2008 Lunar Eclipse
Residents of Fenton, Michigan and surrounding areas were treated to a clear sky on February 21, 2008. This was the night of a spectacular lunar eclipse visible to most of those residing in the Americas. Fenton was no exception. The moon appeared large and bright on the horizon, and went through a series of optical changes between approximately the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. ET.

City of Fenton: Projects for 2008
"1. Silver Lake Road reconstruction will start sometime in early April and run till November 15, 2008. This work will consist of widening to three lanes, new storm sewers where needed, new sidewalks on both sides and curb and gutter from Poplar Street to North Leroy Street and total resurfacing of all roadway.During the construction of this roadway traffic will only be traveling westbound, all incoming traffic eastbound will need to use an alternative route.
We know this will be an inconvenience for residents and ask your cooperation during this time.
2. New traffic signals will be installed in several locations in the city in 2008. North Leroy and Silver Lake Road, South Long Lake Road and Torrey Roads, and Shiawassee and Round Drive. This construction should not effect traffic to any extent.
3. If Council approves our local street program we anticipate several streets in the Northeast section to be resurfaced after July 1, 2008.
Again we ask your cooperation during all these projects and if you have any problems, please call Leslie P. Bland, Director of Public Works at 629-2261."

Snow Removal Procedures For Fenton Township Roads
"After large snowfalls the Fenton Township office receives numerous telephone calls regarding the removal of snow from roads within the Township. Snow plowing for all public roads and many private roads in Fenton Township is done by the Genesee County Road Commission. What is Extreme Athletic Training?
Extreme Athletic training is about closing the gap between average results and extraordinary results. Developing and building a body that is not only aesthetic but extremely athletic as well.
I am sure some of you reading this are saying “I don’t care about being functional or being able to leap over tall buildings in a single bound”. But what if I were to tell you there is a training tool that would give you the “look” you want but also give you a body that is performance charged – strong, energetic, flexible and athletic – without any extra time/stuff added? Actually, it would reduce the time you spend in the gym and trust me on this one – there is a unique confidence that comes with having a physique that not only looks good but is capable.
Interested? I was and that is exactly the reason I started Kettlebell training. I have been involved in the martial arts and various athletics for 22 years. I have always been on the look out for something that would make me punch/kick harder, last longer and be more athletic. Kettlebells provided the answer.
Extreme Athletic training is about closing the gap between average results and extraordinary results. Developing and building a body that is not only aesthetic but extremely athletic as well.
The exercises you do with a Kettlebell are full body movements and thus provide all around conditioning. That is why you spend less time in the gym. You can work your entire body with k-bell exercises in 20-40 min or you can spend hours in the gym trying to work each individual muscle group in isolation. Furthermore, think about it, in what real world situation or athletic activity do your individual muscle groups work in isolation?
In addition to shortening your time in the gym and requiring your body to work as a unit, Kettlebell exercises also require you to balance yourself without the assistance of typical gym machines that do it for you. The benefit – your body becomes “intelligent/connected” and more resistant to injury.
Still not sold? Okay, full body exercises have been shown over and over to burn more fat and build more muscle than any isolation movement in existence. So again, you can have the body you want and have the performance enhancement as a nice benefit in the background.

Vintner's Cellar of Fenton Grand Opening February 8th and 9th
Vintner's Cellar of Fenton custom winery is having it's Grand Opening celebration on Feb. 8 from 4-9 p.m. and Feb. 9 from 10-9 p.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for Feb. 8 at 3:30 p.m. Vintner’s Cellar of Fenton is a unique, micro winery where you can become the wine maker. The grand opening will feature free wine tastings, entertainment on Sat. from 6-9 p.m., hors d'ouerves, door prizes, and a chance to win a batch of wine. All proceeds from the $1 raffle for the grand prize will be donated to the Fenton Community and Cultural Center.
Vintner’s Cellar of Fenton is located at 1545 N. Leroy St., Suite B (next to the Secretary of State).

New Environmentally Friendly Service in Fenton Michigan - Can Do Returnables
Born From Sheer Laziness and DisgustWe admit it. We hate taking back Michigan returnable cans and bottles. But it is good for the environment and keeps our streets clean. So it is a good thing. And we have no choice but to take them back to get our can or bottle deposits back. Or do we?
We remember a simpler time. A time before the returnable kiosks in the neighborhood grocery stores. A time when we could simply take in a bag or cart full of cans, tell the man behind the counter how many we had, and walk off with our hard earned money back in our own pockets. A time when an eager high school student would process our messy cans and bottles for us. But those times are gone. Or are they?

Democrat Party Disenfranchises Michigan Voters in Presidential Primary!
The Presidential Primary in Michigan is rapidly approaching. You can cast your votes on January 15, 2008. But quite possibly you are NOT ALLOWED to vote for your favorite candidate!! This is serious, folks.
In an earlier article on FentonSays.com we have available for view the preliminary primary ballots. If you take a look, you'll notice that Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, and former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina are NOT on the Democrat Primary ballot. Not only aren't they on the ballot, but if you decide to try to write them in ... YOUR VOTE WILL BE THROWN OUT.
Read that last sentence again ... if you decide to try to write-in your favorite Democrat candidate for President YOUR VOTE WILL BE THROWN OUT.
"If there's no campaign, the candidate most likely to win Michigan is Hillary Clinton," Bill Schneider said. "Her Democratic rivals don't want a Clinton victory in Michigan to count. They want Iowa and New Hampshire, where they have a better chance of stopping Clinton, to count more."
If you are a Democrat in Michigan, the DNC (Democratic National Committee) has basically made your choice for you ... Hillary Clinton will be your nominee for President (you don't really think the other guys on the ballot stand a chance, do you?). We have a female socialist as Governor of Michigan, and Michigan's "choice" for the Democrat nominee will also be another female socialist. What is going on, people?!?!
WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!

Virtual Drive West on Shiawassee and Owen Road until Silver Lake Parkway in Fenton, Michigan During the Winter
Part Eight of "Streets of Fenton" video tour. Head west on Shiawassee Avenue, which turns into Owen Road, up to Silver Lake Parkway in Fenton, MI on January 5, 2008. Snow coats the buildings, trees and ground around Fenton Freedom Park, the Penalty Box, the auto dealerships, fast food alley and the Fenton High School facilities. The snow is melting today as temperatures climb above freezing.

Virtual Drive North on Leroy Street from Dibbleville to the North Road Split in Fenton, Michigan During the Winter
Part Seven of "Streets of Fenton" video tour. Head north on Leroy Street from Dibbleville to the North Road split in Fenton, MI on January 3, 2008 when the temperatures were near zero degrees. The Michigan Presidential Primary Election
The Michigan Presidential Primary Election will be held Tuesday January 15, 2008. This is the first of four elections to be held in Fenton Township this year. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be two separate ballots available at this election – one for the Democratic primary and one for the Republican primary. Voters must declare in which primary election they wish to vote before receiving a ballot.This will also be the first election in Fenton Township where voters will be required to show valid photo identification before being allowed to vote. Acceptable forms of photo ID include:
- Michigan driver’s license or Michigan personal identification card
- Driver’s license or personal identification card issued by another state
- Federal or state government-issued photo identification
- U.S. passport
- Current student identification with photo – from a high school or an accredited institution of higher education
- Military identification card with photo
- Tribal identification card with photo
Please be advised that this identification procedure is mandated by Michigan law and all voters throughout the state will be subject to the same requirements. Special procedures have been developed for voters to sign an affidavit if they have forgotten their photo ID, or do not possess a valid photo ID.
Please remember that all voters living in Fenton Township vote at Lake Fenton High School, (4070 Lahring Road). This election will be conducted in the band room, which is located in the south wing of the school.
