VG's Officially Announces Purchase of Both Farmer Jacks

Previously restricted for comment under a confidentiality agreement, VG's spokespersons finally announced that VG's is indeed purchasing both locations of the soon to be closing Farmer Jack's grocery stores in Fenton, Michigan. The Farmer Jack's store on North Leroy Street is due to close on July 7th, and VG's plans on reopening it as a new grocery store sometime in mid-July.

The Silver Parkway location, being so close to the main VG's store, will likely not be a traditional grocery store. By the sounds of it, VG's will be developing a more specific plan for that location to help fill some under-served services in the local area.

VG's states that this will help increase the local job rolls by some 140 positions. Applications will be accepted at the St. John Activity Center, 610 N. Adelaide St., on Thursday, June 28, and Friday, June 29. Thursday's hours are 12 to 5 p.m., and Friday's are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
